Little cousins

This weekend is Sophie's cousin Teo's birthday. Since we won't be able to make it to his birthday party, we thought it would be fun to make him a special birthday post, and a special birthday monster party!
Sophie and Teo had a real blast hanging out during our trip to Argentina. It was so adorable to see them have so much fun together...

Baby Monsters' Shoebox House

While trying to find an alternative to Sophie watching videos online, we decided to make a shoebox house for her little baby monsters and join Lilla a's Shoebox House Exhibition.

Pop! in your mouth chocolate covered blueberries

For Valentine's Day dinner, the hubs bought (a crazy amount of) chocolates and some fruits and made a wonderful chocolate fondue. But what was even more wonderful were the chocolate covered blueberries he made with the leftover chocolate.
They pop! in your mouth just so perfectly! So... just melt some chocolate, dip the berries in it, let them cool down on parchment paper and put them in the fridge. You have to make this, seriously!
Cheers and yum,

Gaby

Valentine's play date (a day earlier)

Today we had a Valentine's play date. The kids made some nice Valentine's cards for daddies and siblings, based on this footprint heart.
I had made some fun surprises for the kiddos, can you guess what they are?

Paper heart garland tree bombing

Inspired by the amazing yarn bombing that has popped all over the world and by Rachelle’s (Tinker Lab) Paper Bags Creative Challenge, our little family decided to repurpose some old paper bags and surprise our neighbors at the same time: by wrapping paper heart garlands around trees in our neighborhood :)
We started with this:
We cut opened the bags to turn them into canvases, and then Daddy and Sophie went all crazy with the paints.
Then we cut the bags in strips, and folded them into fans to make heart chains.
We then made holes in each end of the garland and tied some yarn.
And finally, we went on our paper heart garland tree bombing adventure!
We cannot wait to see what our neighbors say, but we think they will heart them :)
Cheers,

Gaby

Edit: All of the neighbors LOVED their surprise heart attacks, and were quite puzzled as to who had been the lovely bandit that did it! :)

A doodle for daddy for Valentine's Day

The other day Sophie drew her first monigote (doodle). I was so excited -hey, she is only 28 months old!-, that I decided I would embroider this little monster somewhere fun as a Valentine's Day surprise for daddy... Please don't tell him!
''Little Monster'', by Sophie
I wrote the key on the back of the card, that's why it's mirrored.
So I grabbed pencil, blue embroidery thread and a piece of light yellow fabric from an old T-shirt, and made this:
And finally, I hand stitched it to a plain blue T-shirt from Michael's.
I suspect daddy will love it as much as we do :)
Cheers,

Gaby

Water beads and more Valentine's stuff

Keeping on with Valentine's decorations, we made a trip to Michael's and the Dollar Store. We finally got those cool water beads for Sophie (and I, why deny it?) to play with. They were a big hit. Sophie played with them for a looong time, squeezing, scooping, pouring, ''making hearts for daddy''.
