Well, I can say we survived to all of these without much damage and we are very thankful. I was a bit worried about Irene, and preparing everything for my dad's and step mom's arrival, so we really didn't do any art, but I wanted to share Sophie's birthday gift for me. She came to me and said: ''Feliz cLumpe, mami!'' (which would be like: ''Happy bRithday, mommy!''), and gave me this:

The weekend and three flags
We played hide and seek...
We had a tea party...
And we made three flags representing each of us. I think they will go somewhere else, but for now, they are on the wall...
Happy day (or night) to you!

Terrariums Part II
Nap time was very productive today, wow! These are not exactly as I had envisioned them, but I think they are ok for a start. And the little creatures that I had made so long ago finally came out of their box.

Mini Terrariums
Yes, we have joined the terrarium craze that has been going around for a while (although I have always had a thing for terrariums, since my grandparents used to sell them in their shop when I was little). I had some big plans for my little habitats, but could never find the time to get onto them. Well, today I decided it was the day. To keep Sophie busy, we made some mini terrariums and when she went down for her nap, I grabbed everything and with much anticipation started pouring sand, then rocks and then soil into my glass bowls. The soil was completely dry, so I added some water... not a good idea. Everything was ruined (sob). Well, not everything, I think our mini terrariums were a big hit.

Stop and look for fairies
To be honest, what finally pushed me to start this blog was The Magic Onions Fairy Garden Competition. There are so many incredible and oh, so whimsical gardens that I could not stay just as a reader anymore. I had to make one for ourselves. Thanks so much Donni and Kitty for inspiring us!
My initial plan was to make everything myself, but I fell in love with the Succulent roof birdhouse and I knew that had to be our fairy house.

Blogiverse, here we come!
Hi,
I am Gaby; a scientist turned stay-at-home mom turned artist. I am so thankful for the life I am living right now... I have an amazing almost 2 year old daughter, an incredibly supportive husband and the coolest dog, and we all live in a little house in the woods in a lovely city in North Carolina. I love beautiful things. They might not always fit the general idea of beauty, but for that I love them even more. I am not sure yet how much I will be writing, but I hope to share some beautiful images with whoever wants to look.
Cheers,
Gaby
